BSA306 Brainstorming ideas (Week 1)

For this years major project, I would like to work around the concept of "Betrayal, Trust and Identity" whilst working on a Crime genre.

This inspiration came from a few films for example:

New World (2013) - Park Hoon-jung

The Merciless (2017) - Byun Sung-hyun

The Departed (2006) - Martin Scorsese

Infernal Affairs (2002) - Andrew Lau, Alan Mak

In terms of story wise, I would like to tell it from a criminal's viewpoint on how he was betrayed by his fellow gang members and was out to reinstate justice. This would require lots of time and preparation in my opinion as I would like the audience to some what connect with the criminal in terms of emotion and feel sorry for the character. 

From what I've seen in most Crime Films, the theme and style is usually very dark and are mainly dominated by dark colours and have a very cold colour scheme feel to it. As for my project, I would like to try and aim for the same thing but might change things up.
